Why do bees die quicker than flies?

I think it also is due to the fact that flies tend to rest a good bit and perhaps even sleep.  To my knowledge bees never sleep.  Bees fly great distantances while flies seem to stay near where they pupated.  Flies can also use a lot of food sources that bees are unable to consider.
