" in the fall, with no
 pollen coming in"

There is not a day from maple tree bloom in early March until the last days my bees can fly, often in November, that they are not bringing in as much pollen as they wish to bring in. Beats me where they find it in Nov as our flowers are all killed by frost about mid Oct, but I have seen them bringing in pollen often enough in Nov to know it happens. If pollen not coming into the hive is the trigger my bees would only now be making winter bees. That would be a real problem as they shut down most brood raising over a month ago. I sure wish they could find nectar the way they can find pollen where I live. Winter has started here. Had a half inch of snow yesterday and high temp the last two days was below freezing.
