This would be interesting to do with sugar or corn syrup too. I had a beekeeper tell me awhile back that they'd gotten a great deal on a quantity of orange soda syrup (of the type used in commercial soda fountains). They used it for Spring bee feed with great results ... until they discovered later that their honey crop from those bees was orange!

I constantly hear newbees advised to feed, feed, feed their bees till they won't take it anymore. I always wonder how much of that cane sugar ends up in their supers as "honey".
