And you forgot "epigenetics", but so did everyone else for the last few
days, which tells me that no one understands it very well.  Too bad!!!
Let's try this boiled-down way of looking at it:


I don't think anyone forgot,  the question is where does it fit and how to
define it?   Seems to me the epigentics you refer to are exactly in the
middle of what we have and what we want to evolve to.  
 Assuming the epigenetic changes you refer to actually do occur at a local
level, how to define spot and select them is the million dollar question.
And that question is without even going into the minutia of what defines
local? 50 mile range?  100 mile?? 500 mile??
