To me, "sustainable" means that your great-grandchildren could continue to
successfully use the same methods.  The beauty of "unsustainable" is that,
by definition, those practices will eventually be abandoned due to their
own demerits.

We don't really need to criticize unsustainable practices, as they will
have a limited life, and will die on their own.  Sustainable practices are
for those who look forward (or backward) to see what will likely work for
the long term.
