Hello All,
Thanks Randy for the report on Dr. Eischens work!

If I am understanding his research as presented beekeepers *might* be
better
off not feeding fumigillin and feeding patties( specifically Mann Lake
patties).

Like pcelar our testing of Megabee found megabee the best over the counter
pollen sub. Surprisingly Dadant brood builder tested higher than Mann lake.
Maybe more research is needed?

The only problem I have with megabee has been with cost. A friend sent an
email asking *in my opinion* why sales were sluggish on megabee. Later I saw
the price had dropped and started hearing of beekeepers starting to use
megabee. Reporting results similar to pcelar.

A word about pricing:

*If* are sales are hard to keep up with most likely you need to raise your
price. (Forget what the sales Guru's say and listen to a wise businessman)
Sales will slow but profit will rise!

*If* sales are sluggish and you are *sure* people want to buy your product
and price is the issue *due to competition* ( other pollen subs) then you
need to sharpen your pencil and try to reduce costs so you can reduce your
prices so you can realistic compete with the competition. You do not have to
price the same and especially not lower but only low enough to get your
product moving again.

People are creatures of habit and if they use a product and are happy with
the results then you have a new customer which might buy your product for
years.

All patties should be frozen if not used. Old patties are not as good as
fresh. I buy patties but use right away or freeze. I make my own until my
supplier gets a fresh made batch.

Sincerely,
Bob Harrison

Doctor says I must retire from active beekeeping.
