I don't know if this helps or not.  I believe that the author of this has a video and some where in it, it was claimed that the hive with old affected comb made 90 lbs compared to 160 lbs.  I only glanced at this from a thread started on another forum.  I only glanced cause I am fighting to get comb old or new and plan on using it all unless it is a foulbrood that is seen or smelled.
