Warm planting has brought the return of a familiar problem in Ontario -
neonicotinoid planting dust kills:

I found the feedback regarding queen fertility interesting.  Half of my
10-15% winter loss this was due to queens that came out of winter and laid
one or two rounds of brood and either stopped laying or just disappeared.
The queens were a mix of 2014 and 2015 queens.

I didn't keep bees prior to neonics or varroa - is this issue with queens a
common one in other operations?   Is it a new issue?  I don't recall
noticing it to the same extent in previous seasons.
