And likely better yet would be 4 applications a week apart.

The strong drench is a shortcut used by commercial beeks who don't feel that
they can afford the time for multiple applications, or if conditions (or
pocketbook) don't warrant feeding two gallons of syrup.

As with most antibiotics, an extended proper dose for a period of time is
better than a single shot.
