However, that does not rule out an environmental stress
causing lowered immune response to pathogen (s).

Bayer itself claims (or used to claim until I pointed
it out) on the label of Premise, an imidacloprid product
for ants and termites, that the product killed colonies
by making them more susceptible to diseases.
