Hi Ron/Eefje van Mierlo,
About drones in October.
I can't tell you for sure but Steve Taber,mentioned in one of his
articles(or perhaps in his book "Breeding Super Bees") that he checked
the hives for drones in winter and he find  drones in winter time.Hope
my memory is good. In the same time happened to me to find drones in
late October here in Romania.
