Good posts, Pete!
The extreme efficiency of current agricultural systems does not allow for
the existence of much "wasted" land consisting of wildlife/pollinator
habitat.  In order to conserve the existence of such habitat in
agricultural areas, we should strongly support subsidies to encourage
landowners to set aside portions of their property as wildlife habitat or
as conservation easements.
