Adrian Wenner says that my suggestion that some bees that follow a dance
use the information to avoid the already discovered food in order to
find new sources, is "an interesting rationale, but not very
scientific".

I doubt if science philosophers would see this as a proper defence of
the odour hypothesis. If Adrian thinks my hypothesis is not very
scientific, he should say why.

`Science' is difficult to define in such a way that finds universal
acceptance, but my Oxford dictionary says that a definition of science
is that it is `an organized body of knowledge that has been accumulated
on a subject'. My suggestion is based on such an organized body of
knowlege accumulated by many researchers, (including Adrian), and so I
claim that my suggestion is indeed scientific.
