I'm one of those eggheads, I just don't work on honeybees.

Yes you are, there are a lot of them here,,, and that's not a problem,
it's a great thing. We need bright minds specialized in these area. Whats
disturbing is that most of these bright minds seem to thing the rest of us
are dumb. While your obviously well versed in your topics, you may fail to
realize that others are extremely well versed in other topics.
I do find have had many work for me ( I used to supervise a lot of EE's)
that the brighter minds occasionaly miss what we call common sense, so if
we prod them it can be of service, hence my prodding. If it didn't work,
I wouldn't waste time.

Lu is a perfect example, while there are some great researchers, the
neonics battle is awful short on them. It could be easy funding has drawn
the quacks to this area.....

In fact the more I thought about your defense last night I realized just
how bad it was, and what I missed in the reply.

Dennis BIP research shows a lot of chemicals in the hive. If I recall
neonics were no 19? On the list..... So the honest truth is there are 18
other chemical interactions that are much more important. And yet, where
is the focus????

Most of us are aware that Greenpeace is a active participant in this. And
if your also aware of whats around you, you realize there are by all terms a
terrorist organization. They use tactics and principles to gather headlines
and attack. Not fact based, but emotional based.

My hope is that researchers would back up and look at the options, and the
choices clearly....

I am all for the research, provided its balanced and valuable.

It is depressingly sad in my mind that anyone would defend doing the job
halfway. Researching Neonic interactions, without looking at some of the
other pesticides at the same time, is without a doubt intellectually lazy,
and a half ----- job.

Of course that's my opinion...

Charles
