Thankyou for the pointers, David.

I did not know about taxes on hives.   But I did know about the Fairview College connection.   And the institution you mentioned (likely the University of the Philippines at Los Banos, UPLB, is the place that is selling sheets of foundation for about a dollar.  There is one set of rollers that I know about at Bacnotan, and a fellow in the south of Luzon is bringing in a set from Australia, but I think beekeeping is very uncommon in the north of Luzon where I am going.  

Another beekeeper who is going this year, and was last year, was also there through the Fairview connection 20 years ago.  He told me that things haven`t progressed much by what he saw.   

But I will certainly look a little differently at things because of your comments, and I thank you for them.
