>Randy Oliver says commercial beekeeping is lucrative in California. Surely
room for several hundred thousand out of state bee hives until the drought
breaks?

Very funny! As Bob knows, many commercial Calif beekeepers move their
colonies out of state during the summer, since we ALWAYS have drought every
summer. Midwesterners may have to learn how to keep bees the way that we
do!
