Some might appreciate the article in the right sidebar at 
http://www.honeybeeworld.com/4dot9/, written quite a while ago, regarding 
commercialism and consumerism, bee product suppliers, and the evolution of 
beekeeping practice

Although I have been a commercial beekeeper, and understand the need to make 
a living, I do have great sympathy with those who think we have been led 
astray.
