Born in Puerto Rico on 15 January 1929, Dr Rodrigues received
his PHD in Veterinary Medicine in 1962 from the University of
Pennsylvania. Dr Rodrigues is a 4th generation beekeeper and
has been an active beekeeper since childhood. He has spent the
past 11 years studying Varroa mites   and recently published his
findings of research into Varroa control utilizing food grade mineral
oil.
