There should be no difference between a natural and synthetic molecule since
a molecule is a molecule no matter how it comes about. (There is a caveat as
there can be isomers.)

I read the issue as natural thymol vs synthetic thymol (as an example). Not
DDT vs thyme. If the latter, why are we even discussing this, since the
difference is obvious, even though you can get toxic results from many
"natural" substances.
