we have one of these:

http://www.digiblue.com/products/digital_blue/computer_microscopes/db12011.html

it has some nice features (bright white led's that can illuminate from above and/or below), and is a fun toy, but it doesn't hold focus, and after the first 5 minutes, i was wishing for something with higher resolution, as i love still photography, and at 640X480 it isn't really suitable to make decent prints.

it's basically a toy, but it costs less than $100.

i keep wondering about a good used microscope that i could adapt my digital camera to (and get 14 megapixel resolution)....any ideas?
