I measured the appropriate amount of thymol into a bottle, added a bit of 
isopropyl alcohol and shook.  It was cloudy and there were crystals on the 
bottom, so I then added a bit more alcohol and shook again several times 
until the solution was clear.  I then added the solution to a tank of syrup 
and recirculated it with a pump for a while.
