Hi Bob:

For several years I have been making shallow (6 5/8) supers from free
plywood offcuts using one biscuit and two screws for the joints. The plywood
is exterior grade fir and I use titebond II glue. One can make about 50 in
an 8 hour day. They seem to give equally good service as the commercial
finger joint ones.

I do not cut handholds. I find that I can carry them quite nicely without.

                                    Best regards
