We see the term 'half-life' used in connection with (in the present discussion) chemicals losing their toxicity.  Don't forget that many of these are so powerful that even a half-dose will do you or the bees no good!  The impression is given that a chemical is safe after the expiry of its half life and this may, in some cases, not be so.
