One problem with the survey are the cut-offs for winter start and winter
end. I had one die because of varroa (my essential oil experiment) but not
until just after the winter cut-off. So even though it died because of
winter, it became a summer kill.

So most of the northern part of the country can have winter kills become
summer kills all because of the early cut-off.
