hello david-

think one of my hives is in trouble. it is still considerably warm down =
here
in north florida. has been raining for 4 days, though. =20

the fall flow has finally started, now if the rain will just quit.

i have 3 hives, 2 are booming. the third is the weakest and has been all
year. i have inspected it every 2 weeks and the queen is laying a nice =
tight
pattern in the both brood boxes. however, i don't see much activity on =
the
front porch as compared to the 2 others. the total hive is light. the =
others
probably go 100 pounds or more. i would assume that finding a queen at =
this
late date is next to none??? do you think that it is too late to go in =
and
kill her and force them to raise another to get them through the winter.
we had a dearth here through august and september and i fed this one hive
daily for that time. they were consuming about 1 quart every 2 days. =
but,
you would never know that by looking at what they have stored. i saw
somewhere that an exit count of between 30-90 bees per minute was an
indication of a healthy hive. i sat last saturday and watched for awhile=
 and
counted and i saw about 10-15 per minute.

any foregone suggestions??

best regards

stanton
