This summer I have been using mowed grass from the lawn. I let it dry for
a day or so, then rake it and store under cover in plastic bags. Its kind
of hard to get going, but burns relatively cool. I like the smell too,
not sure about the bees though. Burlap burns good but is hard to come by.
I tried old egg cartons for awhile but found they burned quite hot in my
opinion.
