Cuba has changed since the days of Fidel.

Unlike those who still harbor animosity for people they've never met, I've been there twice in 30 years, and things are slowly becoming more "open".

Cuba's medical and veterinary science is not just "trusted" among their peers in other countries, they've done groundbreaking work, like the lung cancer vaccine that is now being tested in the United States (CIMAvax), the first-ever treatments to eliminate the transmission of HIV and syphilis from mother to child, the first vaccine against meningitis B, better therapies for hepatitis B and vitiligo.

Right now, there are people traveling to Cuba today to get advanced treatments they can't get in the USA, or anywhere else. They have a clearly "first world nation" set of health statistics for their citizenry as a whole.

One can't prove from any of this that claims about bees are true or false, but in general, their science is rock solid, it is just published in Spanish, and technical Spanish can be a thicket.

Multiple flights from Miami leave daily, but in 2021, NISPOM and SEAD-3 was added to US 32 CFR, so if you or your employer do any government work, there may be paperwork to fill out before going, and after return. Politics.
