Agreed. A similar effect is noticed regarding GMOs. A local organization call “The Alliance for Science” wanted to have a panel discussion where the public could pose questions about GMOs to a group of academics with expertise on various aspects of the field. Initially it was to take place in a building owned by Greenstar, the local "Natural Foods Market.”  The building is designated for use as an educational space. There was so much opposition to using the space to _discuss_ GMOs the event was cancelled and moved to another venue. The ensuing presentation was recorded and appeared on YouTube the next day. I was going to supply the link but apparently it’s been taken down. So much for the free flow of information
