would reason that honey would be better for bees than cane sugar, and
especially HFCS, but I never saw evidence of it. On the contrary,
beekeepers have fed cane sugar for decades.

I was curious as to the type of honey that the researchers had fed, so
asked them.  It was local soybean honey.  I pointed out that this may have
been an odd choice, since the European Honey Bee did not evolve with any
exposure to soy nectar.  I encouraged them to test for effects from other
honeys to see whether they get similar results.
