Charles
Besides just loving mels statement of "You only know what you know" He had one other thing besides his charts of timeing that I found interesting. It had to do with his claim that when the queen first start laying, the mites all go to the first brood cells that are layed up and end up killing the papau and thierselves. I have seen this in one other study and also read one today that said multiple mites in a brood cell impacted their reproductive rates. I still wonder the truth or falseness of this statement and if true why more has not been mentioned on it or even mentioned about it. It would seem to give creedence of why brood breaks make a differrence. (I have read randys numbers on what brood breaks do for you also) It also could explain why it seems to be easier in cooler areas to get by maybe a little better then places that don't have wether induced brood breaks (if this is even a fact and not just something I believe).

Cheers
gww
