    Sulfur fumes would work, but are extremely dangerous to your lungs, and
you might also burn up your hive.  Then (if you succeeded) you'd have to air
out the hive for quite a while, and you still might have trouble inducing
bees to live in that foul odor.

    I used sulfur in a bee smoker once to kill a bad hive. It worked, but it
ruined the smoker. I never could get the smell out of it.

    Why not a shop vac?
