Gravity and permeability

Depending on the degree of permeability would you not get a cone shaped dispersal pattern with the coated corn kernel being at the apex of the cone?  The amount of spread would depend on the amount of water applied, the time period involved, and the permeability of the soil layers.  The depth of the cone would depend for the most part on the permeability of the layers of soil.  Sure are a lot of variables involved here folks.
