I completely understand Charlie--it's almost as though the authors went out
of their way to make it as confusing as possible.  But that was only due to
how they composed the paper--they did explain their rationale for dosing,
and threw in every sort of way to quantify it.  It took me a number of read
throughs to make sense of it all.

Bottom line, I feel that it's a stretch to call their doses "field
realistic."  But that doesn't mean that their work isn't of value--they
appeared to demonstrate that high doses affected bees tethered to a pivot
and allowed to fly in circles.  But since their results were contrary to
the other study that they cited, I'd like to see more confirmation.
