I run 10 frames in 10-frame Langstroths when I am drawing comb - brood
boxes and honey supers.  I get the best comb that way.  When the comb is
drawn, I cut back to 9 frames that allows greater ease in manipulating the
brood chambers and taller cells in the extracting supers.  I evenly space
the frames in the 9-frame bodies all year around. I learned to work bees
this way 30 years ago and it still works for me now.
