I picked up and have been using Kelley's motorized, vibrating uncapping knife.  It's a horizontal blade, heated by a thermostat, and the cappings drop down into a cappings tank.  I bought is used.

Looks great, yet has been working pretty average.  I'm faster with my cold, serated uncapping knife made by RADA (sold by churches everywhere as a fund raiser).  But there is part of me that thinks this vibrating knife is supposed to be faster.

On the Kelley knife, I keep moving the heat knob up but I've got a pretty good smell of burning wax/honey.  It still seems to cut slow and at times, the blade "clogs" up with a wad of wax, even on newly drawn comb.

Do the blades need to be sharpened?  Replaced?  Anyone have any experience with this tool?
