Not quite.
 
In varroa resistance terms the two products are the same.
 
The advantages of Apistan are that only two, instead of 4 strips are
required, which makes it much easier/faster to apply and remove. A
European Union Maximum Residue Limit (of effectively zero) has been set
for Apistan use in beehives, while Bayvarol relies on a ruling for
residues in sheep. That the database for Apistan is well-proven, being
registered as a veterinary medicine in more than 40 countries (as
opposed to about 4 for Bayvarol).
 
We (and most beekepers who have used both products) believe Apistan to
be the superior product.
 
And yes, Bayvarol in the UK is ludicrously priced.
