These Finnish-made hives are available in the UK in our widely-used National size (an 18 inch square box taking 11 frames). The BeeBox offering is very strong and provides good insulation. However, in the National format they are designed with an overhanging lip on the bottom edge of the boxes which makes crushing bees almost inevitable and makes them incompatible with other equipment. Frames are also very tight, suggesting the box is slightly too narrow.

Many people here instead favour the Sweinty offering which are 'plainer' on the outside (much easier to paint), very strong and well made and completely compatible with cedar broods (deeps), supers and other hive parts. These are available in Langstroth as standard as well.
