I have not read the DaVinci code, and that makes it hard to fit two or three
sentences into context.

One thing I do know is that the author is obviously not a beekeeper.
However, on average there may be some truth to his equation.

I always find it funny that some people, such as this author, are trying to
quantify, pigeon-hole, and formularize all creation under the sun. Sure, we
need to have structure and order of some kind to make sense of the world,
but if it is overdone and oversimplified, it becomes pretty well useless.

The late Richard Taylor (contributor to Bee Culture) had it right with this
quote: "If you go through life with a preconceived notion of what you are
going to find, then you will miss everything that is novel and wonderful."

My suggestion is to find all that is novel and wonderful, appreciate it, and
let others know about it in the best way we can.

Get out, talk honey and bees. People listen.

Best Regards
Frank Seiler
