Hi

The Pesticides Forum in the UK monitors the numbers of birds on farmland.
 See their 2013 report here:

This demonstrates that there has generally been a long term decline in
birds on farmland in the UK.  Neonicotinoids may or may not be adding to
the problems now, but the decline predates their use.by decades
