This year I picked up a small LED pencil flashlight...it works very well on a dull day;
the trick is to shine it at the right angle down into the cells.

Have not yet tried yellow lenses but I will - just have to find some clip-ons or I will not
see anything much beyond the end of my nose!




You and I have same problem, looking over top of glasses,etc.  As you mentioned, magnifiers and lights under veil don't do much good.  I seldom wear a veil, but when I have to, I find that the LED flashlight and yellow lenses work.  As per clip-ons - in USA, there are glasses designed to wear over regular glasses - especially Safety and Driving Glasses. Some work well, some don't.  Look to see that they are advertised to fit over glasses, and try them before buying.
