Hello LIst:

not merely plant resins transferred back to the hive>>

Also: BTW....What a great list this is...thanks Aaron

Has anyone considered that bees in the almonds and in other vast
mono/ag operations may have little resources for collecting sap and
resins from trees other than the almond or the plant that they are on?

I understand that the bees prefer the conifer family of trees for the
raw resource and upwards of 70% of the some samples tested showed the
conifer was the source of raw product..... This very thread has
indicated and suggests that the bees continue varnishing the inside as
well as the entrances as an ongoing 24hr, 365 operation.

If the bees are on a mono diet of almond pollen & nectar, and without
a good raw resource available to harvest and manufacture a good
quality propolis. And if this is an ongoing 24/7 varnishing operation
then could this scenario allow pathogens etc. to gain better footholds
into the colony?

just thinking out loud
