Peter said: Fluvalinate and flumethrin affect drone fertility; not sure how, but could this be at least a part of the reason?

My question regarding this study, I recall that Apistan strips were applied during the drone production and middle of the honey season. It would be expected to have an effect on drones as the study showed. The question will be then: is there an effect if strips applied off drone production season or the effect could be due to residues of fluvalinate accumulated in brood combs.

Label states that strips should be removed 2 weeks before honey flow. Do you think if we move the treatment to early spring before drone production would this early treatment improve sperm viability?
