Thanks Bob, glad that you enjoyed the article!  It was tough to explain such
an arcane subject for a general readership, and in so few words.

 The "Sick Bees" *series* is just that.  Article #2 (Colony Collapse) was
only an introduction to the model for colony collapse.  I will be covering
each of the factors involved in more detail in subsequent installments.

Pesticides are clearly a health issue for honey bees, but just as clearly
unnecessary for apiaries to experience wholesale colony collapse.

I will be writing more extensively about pesticides and colony health
issues.
