No, actually it's named Taktic. Maverick is fluvalinate.

Why was amitraz pulled from the market? I've heard several reasons.

1. Fire in the Merck facility
2. Regulators didn't want another source of amitraz in the environment, 
exposing children to the chemical...they felt that animal flea/tick 
collars are amitraz and children are being exposed enough without 
additional points of contact. Actually, aren't flea/tick collars fipronil?
3. Way more Taktic was being sold in the US that was being produced here 
by Merck. Rumor has it, knock-off Taktic was coming in from China.

Who really knows?
