I sent a post several weeks ago describing a small black native bee
that would gather each evening to sleep in my garden. This is their
second year. An entomologist from Xavier U. here in New Orleans
keyed it down as far as genus for me. It is one of the leaf-cutter
bees of the genus Osmia. They have disappeared again and I hope to
see them again next year.
