To separate serum from whole blood (in a general laboratory centrifuge,
volumes around 10ml) you are looking at a speed of 3000 rpm and g of about
1000-5000 with run time 10min (the actual force is the product of g and
time).   For pelleting DNA one normally uses a microfuge (volumes about 1
ml) which runs at about 15000 rpm and generates about the same g.
