I've been reading the English translation of Friedrich Ruttner's BREEDING TECHNIQUES AND SELECTION FOR BREEDING OF THE HONEYBEE, published by the British Isles Bee Breeders Association. Apart from his contributions to breeding strategies (he was buddies with Brother Adam, etc.), does anyone nowadays pay much attention to his honey bee classification methods (i.e., his Chapter V re. the assessment of the physical characters)?
