Allen, Ulmo is what you described and much more.

A researcher from Montana University discovered a fungus in Ulmo bark that
produces diesel fumes.

And a chilean researcher has patented an Ulmo extract to control bacterial
infection in vegetables. it preferably serves for controlling the growth of
bacteria *Erwinia carotovora pv. Carotovora,* which causes black leg and
soft rot in potato.
