I have gotten ten frame deep single brood box colonies through winter but I
am just yet trying to winter five frame nucs that are tandem in one deep
brood box on their own honey stores. I am hoping to get at least one of the
three through winter, that will tell me if it is at all possible. I have
seen ten frame miniature mating nucs come through winter, so I have high
hopes for nucs to survive our winters. It would help my goals to succeed
with nucs wintering. To be progressive at anything that one does they must
be willing to do a certain amount of experimenting.

MikeP. in Vermont winters nucs, so I would think that you could do it in New
Jersey.
