I once treated myself for lateral epichondylitis (tennis elbow) with the
sharp end of a bee on the pain centre, kept in for 2 minutes. Instead of
lasting for months and ending up with cortizone jabs from the doctor, it was
gone in a couple of days. I think the body is stimulated to produce its own
cortizone.

Aren't we in danger of reviving medieval witchcraft? Bee venom is the same
as rattle snake venom I have been told. Why should small doses be
beneficial? The body will just try to clear the poison but it will stress
the liver/kidneys or whatever. Medical advice is to avoid stings
altogether.

But keeping bees can assist a healthy lifestyle, certainly. A Russian czar
is said to have discovered that beekeepers lived longest - so ordered the
court to eat honey. Unforetunately, he did not realise that Russian
beekeepers were too poor to keep back any honey for themselves - they ate
the bee combs with grubs in. Now that would be nutritious!
